The National Weather Service map from the previous blog post doesn’t lie. There really is snow cover in Central Park.
* * *
In 2005, Time Magazine soberly reported that Global Warming caused Hurricane Katrina. So given such precedent, why can't I write that the cold and snowy winter is caused by lack of global warming?
It's not called global warming anymore, it's Climate Change™. Yes, now even global cooling is the result of man-made Climate Change™.

That's a great photo. What luck that the guy was wearing a bright red hat, to provide a focal point.
[HS: I thought you didn't like it when I post photos of unsuspecting strangers? Actually, I didn't even intend to photograph them, I thought I was just photographing a snowy bridge; but they just showed up in the photo, which I had to heavily crop in order to make the couple large enough to be the focal point of the photo.]

Um, Time magazine shouldn't confuse climate with weather, and neither should you.
Is that so confusing?

Are you continuing with this myopic view of climate because you're stubborn, because you're being ironic, or because you're simply not very smart?

I blame climate change on the manufacturing of Persian rugs. Get em while you can before it's too late!

"USA Today" has a story claiming chicken manure can curb climate change,
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/environment/2010-02-10-cheap-carbon_N.htm
"....At Josh Frye's poultry farm in West Virginia, the chicken waste is fed into a large, experimental incinerating machine. Out comes a charcoal-like substance known as "biochar" — which is not only an excellent fertilizer, but also helps keep carbon in the soil instead of letting it escape into the atmosphere, where it acts as a greenhouse gas."
Biochar huh?,
"... Venture capitalists, soil scientists and even members of Congress have all come to Frye's farm to see whether his example can be repeated"
There is something very fitting about congresscritters visiting a farm to inspect chicken-shit. Here we are buried in record amounts of snow nationally, in over $100,000 of debt per household nationally, with over 10% unemployment, with gas approaching $2.50-a-gallon, and Iran's Mahmoud AmadiniNUTJOB declaring he has enriched plutonium, and this is what our fearless leaders are worried about.
Its interesting to me to see all of these "new" commenters here scolding Sigma for pointing out that its cold and snowy this winter. I wonder how many of them realize that deforestation is probably a bigger prime mover in any warming we might experience in the future than carbon dioxide?

Red hats are prole

Well, it hasn't been snowy in New Hampshire this winter. Actually it's been one of the worst winters for skiing in recent memory. It's been just as bad in Vermont and Quebec. So what is that supposed to prove?

"Red hats are prole"
This couple looks urban artsy/hipster rather than prole.

"Actually, I didn't even intend to photograph them, I thought I was just photographing a snowy bridge; but they just showed up in the photo"
It looks as good as if you'd set it up and told them what to wear. Great for V-Day too.
"HS: I thought you didn't like it when I post photos of unsuspecting strangers?"
They are far away enough that they're not easily identifiable. Plus, the photo has a legitimate news purpose, and it's not a photo that would embarrass the subjects. They'd probably want a copy if they saw it.

Feel free to write whatever you'd like. Morons in the press do:
http://denisdutton.com/cooling_world.htm
And the AGW worshppers who leave their shit here fall on their knees each and every time new utterances are made by their masters, doesn't matter if it the exact opposite of what was said yesterday. Makes dumb ass muslims and wacko Xtians look downright normal.

About the dishonesty of the IPCC, and how they deliberately placed weather stations near artifical heat sources to queer the temperature readings upwards, read this:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/environment/article7026317.ece
Excerpt:
"Such warnings are supported by a study of US weather stations co-written by Anthony Watts, an American meteorologist and climate change sceptic.
His study, which has not been peer reviewed, is illustrated with photographs of weather stations in locations where their readings are distorted by heat-generating equipment.
Some are next to air- conditioning units or are on waste treatment plants. One of the most infamous shows a weather station next to a waste incinerator.
Watts has also found examples overseas, such as the weather station at Rome airport, which catches the hot exhaust fumes emitted by taxiing jets."
Temp-measuring equipment next to hot jet exhaust fumes, air conditioning units, waste incenerators also. Thats a very interesting article that had comments from one of the authors of the IPCC report who has since come out as an open AGW-skeptic.
